I found this a couple days ago while detecting a park. I posted it in Today's Finds and confirmed its a buckle. I have tried to find a more intact example on the interwebs, but I haven't had any luck. I think it may be from the 1920's-40's. Can anyone confirm the possible manufacturing date and I am wondering if this buckle type is called by any other name, like a batwing buckle is? Thanks folks!

It's no doubt a belt buckle, but my first thought when I saw the picture was a Ronson cigarette lighter.
