I found this buckle on Sunday and am wonder what it is. Any help on it would be great.

Age and what it was used for would be great.

Buckle is one the left in the photo. Half Real (size of dime) helps for size.

Your buckle is broken almost in half. Those are fairly generic and could be used for many things. They could go all the way back to the civil war. The fact the tongue is iron doesn't help to date it that much.

Thanks, I realized it was broken I just forgot to write it :)

Its actually a horse harness buckle, hence the off-set bar. Used for a wide date range but circa 1880-1930
