I saw a friend that has got he hands on this Buckle that's mounted in a frame with a print of a battle flag. Best I could tell it was 2 7/8" x 1 7/8" can anyone tell me anything about it. Sorry about the quality of the Pic but it's from my cheep phone.

Looks like a Confederate States Civil War belt buckle. But that buckle has been faked many times by many people over the years. Patina looks okay, but that could be faked as well. I wouldn't buy one framed because I wouldn't be able to check out the back of the buckle.

Bottom line, it could be real, but don't bet on it. The main reason they're worth thousands of dollars is because fewer CS buckles were made than US (Union) buckles and not that many have survived 150 years.

One more note. The letter "C" doesn't look right to me. I'm no expert, but something just doesn't look right with that letter.
