buckle and shells

Went out today and hunted an area that i have hunted in the past. The area was an old adobe constructed in the 1850's. Its now a national historic landmark ( so i cant hunt to close ) surronding the area is a large wooded area - along the creek on a trail i found this buckle it was 4 inches deep. Along with it in the general area I found some old shotgun brass. I dont imagine the buckle is very old judging from the back ( machine marks ? ) any ideas?

Late 70's early 80's belt buckle,reminds me of one I used to have with the logo "peeled" off of it.
