Hunting one of my spots in VA and dug this awesome US Buckle! One of my favorite finds. Looks like it would clean up nicely, is it a good idea to clean to the brass underneath? Any suggestions on what to use? Happy Hunting.

Beautiful early buckle! Can’t ask for one in better shape. My opinion is to dry brush the dirt off and not clean it too much. Big congrats to ya! That’s a thrill you’ll never forget!

Nice!! That's an excellent specimen, do NOT be tempted to clean down to the "brass underneath"...just leave as is, it's a beautiful, fully intact piece. Just carefully pick the loose crud off and stare at it for hours! Great find...Ddf.

You guys are right. I will brush the loose stuff off leave it just as it is!

Very nice find sir! Congrats.

Perhaps one day, my detector will find one, instead of the smashed beer cans every time!

If I were your side of the pond, it would be on my list as well, CONGRATS

It's still on my bucket list. Seeing the amount of people still finding plates makes me have hope. And congrats, you couldn't ask for one in better condition dug.

Glad you saved that beauty tho.
