Brother-in-Law cant' find his Cache
Last week my Brother-in-Law was in town visiting. I showed him our recent finds(mostly clad but a few relics, dozen wheats and a silver dime). He said he wasn't impressed. It irked me but I brushed it aside and continued to chat about metal detecting and what others find, etc. He then told me about how him and his buddy buried a Silver Dollar Cache on public land some 20-30 years ago. He says that they went to dig it up this summer and can't find it. They have been to the area 3 times looking for it and have been unsuccessful. They buried another cache in another city and were able to locate that one but this one eludes them. He told me how they marked it and how deep they buried it(I doubt a MD would be able to pick it up) and on what land....so guess what I'll be looking for this winter?
I did assure him that if found it that I wouldn't dig it up without him. I doubt that the value of the cache is more than $100. But it still would be fun to locate and dig up with him.

Yeah, like crushed Mountain Dew cans, nails and zinc pennies! People just get this impression that all you need is a metal detector and some "good" spots and you will find the stuff. Very simple huh? Yes, sometimes it is almost that simple but that is the exception not the rule. And you have to put in your time, know your equipment, etc.
