✅ SOLVED brooch? pin?

Odd brooch? Pin? Have no idea what this is. It's heavy, 8 grams, 7/8 x 7/8 inch not quite 1/4 inch thick.
You can see a little guilt poking through. I need to do a better cleaning.
Any idea what it is or how old.

I believe it's probably a cufflink or lapel button, I dug a couple recently that were very similar.

As far as the age goes I'm not real sure but a guess would be mid-late 1800's to early 1900's.

I think that sounds quite probable. The ones in this link are only similar, but if you compare the shape of the fastener's "footprint" on the back, it seems very much like the one here: Vintage Yellow gold Tone ruby red bold big Art Deco cuff links from nicosnostalgia on Ruby Lane
