hello everybuddy

Yesterday i went to an unusal place, two hunderd meters from a curch.
It was very clean and i am not used of it. I thought changing area was better and i was leaving but just one meter before getting to the path i heard a strange sound, not like rubish.
It was this five little coins that came out one after one and each of them with the same strange sound.
It is the same coin in different years.

So i thought i should check that area better and turned back. Not far from there i found this Bronze Phallus Pendant.
Somewhere i red they are from 1st-2nd century AD. Maybe!!!

Most of the romans coins from this period are flat due to the compound.

I did found a lot...but a lot are flats. It looks like you have found them in Nothern Italy

Congrats on digging that old coin spill Vince. :occasion14: I agree with AARC, that the item may be part of an ancient belt buckle.

The Romans were obsessed with phallic items, you find them on lots of items, coins, mount, studs e.c.t yours is a pendant mount worn around the neck. Great find.

I went to Italy in 2001 for a friend's wedding. The Almalfi Coast. While there we also went to Pompei. The most popular structure in town was the Bordello. We visited the National Museum of Archeology in Naples which had a great deal of artifacts from Pompei. The biggest attraction of the Guided Tour was the room that was dedicated to the items resembling "All things Phallic."
Congrats on your finds.

Had a mount or 2 but still no pendant, its a possibility as they were pretty common back then. Good find.

Congrats nice one! One i found was worn for a long time till the loop opend... :icon_thumleft:

Thanks guys for the comm. So definitely it is a pendant!
It is amazing how much it was used at that time. What would had been the date with that thing hung around the neck :). I wonder if i get back there and find other things. This was just 5 cm in the ground.
