Bronze Ring

Hello all, any ideas on this cast bronze ring, it's 3cmx3cm. Can't make my mind up if it's ancient or modern. Apart from slight damage on one end it looks complete. I found this object in Yorkshire.

looks ancient to me ....the hole in the middle is irregular proberbly made by forcing something through it when it was hot, like you say dating it might be difficult

Wow, coming from England and bronze it has got to be very old--date it by where it was found--farm date.
