I found this on my last hunt and had it posted with my finds in hopes maybe someone with great knowledge of reale's would take a look .It was heavily tarnished thick with pantina I had to take a soft wire brush along with peroxide and white vinegar to remove it . I see what appears to be a shield with a cross and some kind of symbol on the top left of the shield ... I am open to oppinion's on this one ... On this particular site the oldiest coin ive gotten was 1781 1/2 reale and others have found clipped reale's as well the town dates back to the late 1600's . And i recently located another foundation on the property burried under the dirt about 5 inches.. thanks for any help on this one !

I have been doing some research and notice they did make bronze reale's as well.

You might look at Brazil coins from 1700s on up. They had a shield on them. Called them "reis". Made some out of copper. Can you make out any lettering?

Pretty sure its not a coin, specially as its unifaced & has a once raised coat of arms. Some kind of emblem to a?

Thanks Crusader , its got me a little stumped , from looking at it , real close it appears it is two peice's melted together as there is a slight gap on the bottom of the top piece. But with a shield on it , it has me stumped I just found a Chinese token there the other day dating in the 1700's . It appears like someone was trying to merge the two and then cut them out round together. I guess it will just have to be a mystery piece for now . Thanks for the oppinions !

Only a guess here, but I think it might be an old wax seal.
