Had another good treasure fleet find this morning. Only had an hour or 2 before the tide and wind drove me out, but managed this little bronze religous medallion. She's pretty wore out after 286 years in the sand, but there was enough left to make out st. Bendicti !! I can just see some poor castaway Spaniard clutching a rosary on a hurricane swept shoreline in 1733. One can imagine a hundred different ways it got in the sand and was lost, but today was finally its day of rescue...286 years later. Great little piece for the collection, and the first piece of jewelry in a long time.....I hope there's more to come. Thanks for looking and happy hunting out there !!

20190924_144859.jpg woo hoo got another little piece of decorative bronze. A little florette piece !! This makes a half dozen or so of these pieces all with the same floret style.

Thanks ARC.....all this spanish treasure lore has got to my head and I have a small obsession. Probably some good fresh dropped jewelry at the swim holes, but I can think of only one thing right now....spanish treasure galleons !!

lol... you are not alone out there... heard that a lot over the years from countless hunters.

But then one day... IF... IF... you keep at it... then... perhaps... the ole salt .. may deem it your time...

and cough up something special.

But rest assured...

You cannot win if you do not play. :)

PS...

Here is a guy who has done well on that coast metal detecting... you may find it interesting and learn a tip or two...

Its was not his "skill" I am pointing at... HENCE... all the more reason to work that coast... merrily for the fact that IF HE can find it... So can you.
