bronze lion or dog head

Hi there. Have any of you any idea on this item. Its bronze abd hollow possibly a walking stick top? Any info welcome

It could be a Sword/Dagger Pommel, but it could be from a walking stick to.

It looks to be an early piece. .. ive seen knife dagger terminals with the same type head.. walking sticks seem better designed. . More modern. . Dunno

BTW it's supposed to be a lion.. Here's a link of a similar piece. I have George Neumann's books here somewhere, but I think it's in the dresser drawer that won't open.

A clearer pic would help but the closest I can find is an American light dragoon saber (#14 Neumanns pg 256). It looks like a good candidate for your piece. If so, great find! Check out the pics & description from the book

I also posted this on your thread in today's finds but hopefully this is some help. There are other sword pommels in the book with lions heads but this seems to be the best match.
