Bronze Cannonball?

I just found a what looks like a 7" diameter 26.6Lbs bronze cannonball or looks exactly like a cannonball. Was found when dredging chanel bottom off coast of Ft Niagra in new york. I have no idea of what this is if it is not a cannonball. The patina indicates this thing being in the muck a long time.
