I found this 11 inch diameter,14 inch tall bronze bell in the mud under an old dock many years ago. The bell has no makers mark on it and it was recovered with the iron yoke which was rusted badly.
I removed the yoke so it would display better (IMHO) The bell appears to have a burn mark down one side. I cant imagine what it was used for when an iron bell would be cheaper and do the same job :dontknow:
Thanks for looking and HH to everyone!
Keith

That is a groovy bell! Does it have a clapper? I.E., can you ring it?
The clapper had rusted away!

This is an amazing relic, Keith. Your Colonial collection is something to admire. :icon_thumleft:

Kirk :hello:

Looks like that baby has some weight to it ! I can only imagine the song that your metal detector was singing when you passed the coil over that :o

Thanks for posting ! VPR

Dang man I bet that signal about blew your ears off :laughing7: On a serious note that's one cool relic that you don't see excavated often. Maybe on a shipwreck but not like you found it that's awsome :icon_thumleft:
