This I found on a Roman field, archaeologists do not know exactly.
Roman? or iron age?
Upper part of a dagger.
It is old that I know.

Has it got an a slot in the bottom to hold the blade? If so it could be a knife terminal & I agree, it looks ancient. Iron age seems more likely, but might be a cross-over with the Roman period. What we would call Romano-Celtic, not sure what your term is?

Hello everyone it's not hollow, it is massive.
on the back seems to be iron remains.
This afternoon I will make a picture of the back.

On the field where I have found this is also a celties coin found. and Roman coins.

I go to my work., almost weekend yesss

Reminds me of the space alien grasshoppers from old sci fi movie "Quartermass and the pit"
So maybe its supposed to be a grasshopper?

If it's got iron remains chances are for it being a dagger/knife pommel, the iron being were the blade went to the pommel, and as you found it on a Roman field....you have your answer..cool find :icon_thumright:
