Hi Guys,

Just wondering, I find broken glass bottles washed up all the time, some old ceramics too.
Just wondering, do you think that all the glass would be washed ashore or would some of it still be further out in deeper water?

Lately the east coast of Australia has had some interesting weather with flooding, king tides, big swells, strong winds, so the beaches are a Treasure Hunters dream!

Any tips to find ceramics under sand?

Kind regards,
Tom.

About the only thing on the beach, would be to go out after a storm, and try to hit it at low tide. Diving would be the best bet. Good luck.

thanks stevemc, going out this weekend, hopefully I'll find something.

If you do, please show us some photos - we love seeing what people find - especially on the other side of the world :)

Hey guys,

Went out on Saturday night for 4hrs of metal detecting at low tide on the other side of the bay were I found the ceramics, found 20cents and some rubbish, nothing exciting.

Today I hit the mud! sank and lost my shoes a couple of times, lady luck smiled down upon me and I found a metal rod to use as probe. I found an outboard motor in the mud, not exactly what I was looking for! and a crab pot (no crab inside :-\ ) but that was about it.

The following pics are what i've found, the area that I'm hunting is the first place that settlers came to.

there is a similar stamp used by grindley 1930's onwards, only difference is that something is above my stamp .. no idea what.

Anyhow, its one small part in a large puzzel

Thanks for the sites

The Grindley company has been around late 1800's and is still going... no wonder why theres so much on ebay :)
