These were found at an 1800's homesite. I'm not sure but I think it is a broken handle to a small spoon or fork. The length of the oval part is around 1.25". Has a mark that says "R&P". The metal has a patina on it, it is very thin, and is not very dense. The VDI reading on the AT Pro was only around 43-44. The metal looks similar to some flat buttons I have dug. If it is a spoon handle, I don't think it was very long - perhaps a baby spoon??
The lead object looks to have originally been flat and roundish in shape. However, it was found rolled up. Looks like maybe some mice or a squirrel gnawed on it. I have been reluctant to unroll it as I was afraid I might ruin it or destroy it. Do you think there could be any mark on it and would it be worth trying to unroll it?
