I have been at the beach and was cleaning up my 800 before going home. I just realized on of the tabs where the rod connects to the coil is broken.
Has anyone else run into this problem? Is there a repair method?
I have had my 800 for about four years so I assume it is not under warranty.
Suggestions?? Help!!

There is a tab stiffener available for about $10 that is simple to install in about 2 minutes. I can't believe Minelab hasn't taken care of this problem yet.

Can you PLEASE provide more information on the tab stiffener you refer too?

Google Minelab Equinox tab stiffener you will find a lot of choices.

It's a common problem. I'm on my third one myself! Out of warranty, I'd use some marine epoxy to re-attach the ear, and then use an ear stiffener as mentioned.

Careful, as you can break the stiffeners as well if you tighten the screw too much...I have first hand knowledge.. Daaaaa

On my CTX3030 large 11' x 14" coil with broken ear, I made a stiffener from plexiglass the same shape as the original. Reattached the original ear with JB Weld and then used JB Weld to attach the plexiglass along side of the original. I ended up buying a new coil because I did not think this fix would work long term. That was over 5 years ago and the new coil is still in the box.
