Finally broke the Red Hot Summer Slump of nothing but Clad Coins. Finally got back into the 1800's! Short morning hunt today on a new permission yielded a 1937 D Wheat Penny and an 1893 Liberty V Nickel. My first V Nickel of the year. I think I'll go back to this property a few more times. LOL

Nice!!!! Congrats!!!!

Kudos on breaking the slump, I'm in the same boat, pretty much only clad is being dug.

Nice job on the V Nickel.

Great looking coins!

David, great finds and definitely get back there and go slow!

It's frustrating isn't it Carl? I'm hunting old parks and fairgrounds that were established in the early 1900's. A typical 3 hour hunt may yield 10 to 20 Coins, but there all 1965 and newer, dang it. These are large areas of ground and I will return hoping to find what older coins may be left, but it's nice to dig a real keeper once in a while to help a person's attitude and self respect. LOL Don't get me wrong I still enjoy finding these newer coins and they are great training and experience with using and learning your detectors, but nothing makes the heart race like old silver coin. I love the design of the older coins, some of them are just plain beautiful in my opinion. Thanks for the comments Carl and good luck detecting.

That's a good looking nickel! Congrats on the finds, and for beating the heat.

A good v nickel, but that is a very good Wheat cent.
