Went back to my new cornfield site today. Only got about an hour and half in and my shovel broke. Still managed to find a token that says Joe Walker on one side, other is blank. This sweet infantry officers button was a first for me. Learned it is post civil war 1870s. image.jpg This is button, right away I could see the eagle. image.jpg image.jpg Here is the token. image.jpg Button is in awasom shape. Also picked a smaller general service button but is bent bad. image.jpg On a side note here we go again with some upside down pictures. I apologize.

I'll take a Eagle button upside down, inside out, our any side. Looks like you had a great hunt even with a broken shovel.

I have never hunted a field with the corn still standing lol. That must be a hard one to do? I'd take that infantry button ANY day!

I could but then you would have everyone and there brother slowing down looking at you Honking taking pictures! Thinking your finding gold or something. Police showing up asking questions, Blaa, Blal, Blaa..... Im like a ghost Old Dude. Plus it just more relaxing for me, something about cornfields at this time are almost mistic like.

Who told you the eagle I was post Civil War? Unless it has a post war back mark, it sure looks like a Civil War or earlier button to me. The post war buttons have what I call a chicken eagle on them, and this doesn't look like a chicken eagle to me.
