Broke into the 1800's in a big way!

100_0579.jpg100_0571.jpg100_0579.jpg Went to my NEW secret spot this afternoon after I got the honey-do finished...was hunting for only 10 mins or less when I dug up what I think is a 1807 or 1801 draped bust large cent!! I couldn't tell what it even was till I got home I just threw it in my pocket..makes digging all those pull-tabs and cans worth it..I'm new to this, is there any way to get some more detail from the coin without hurting it?

awesome find!! Try soaking in warm peroxide

Thank's...I'm trying to upload a pic of the face of the coin but for some reason it keeps saying the file is too large

I use photobucket to upload then copy and paste the image code which usually works well for me.

What part of jersey you from? Nice finds!!

olive oil and old toothbrushes and careful digging not to scratch them. these are rare, maybe lifetime finds! Got the 1800 and 1846 in VF condition.

100_0593.jpg Don't know why it let's some pic's upload and some not?... Thanks for looking, I'm really happy..I inherited my grandfathers detector (coinmaster 6000 di pro) and I have the bug as he always had.,I had no idea what I had. I really thought I had a modern half dollar all I could make out was America....again I'm really really happy..I'm going back tomorrow
