I finally found some new spots to hunt... and really didn't think I'd find much because the neighbors said it was all fill dirt.... well the back yard was empty but the front was another story...

I went back and gave it a second scan and I came up with MORE SILVER!!! and wheats and my first buffalo nickle in a very long time. I was digging the "iffy" signals toward the end... I bet that yard has more in it.. I will be going back and working more slowly.

This is the best single site I have ever hunted for coins all this was in a 25x20 ft yard! They are not that old but silver is silver IMO. Also I am quite perturbed... I hit 7 of of the 25 "keeper" coins... I can only attest that to being in a nice yard I kept the hols as small as possible... thus hitting several of the coins. :-(

2 more silver
1951 Quarter 1954d Dime
1935 Buffalo Nickle

4 more wheats
1930s 1940 x2 1946d

see last pic...[/bg]

I went back and hunted this site a third time... I'll post updated pictures tomorrow... just wanted to update the post...
I dug almost every signal... I think I need to go back one more time... on this visit this is what I got....

11 more wheat pennies 1920-1952 (for a total of 28 wheat pennies form one site!)
1961 Rosie Silver dime
1943P Silver Nickle
(Total silver for this site 10 silver coins!)
This is the best site I have ever hunted... well for semi-modern coins... I bet there still is more!

Well this is my final visit to this site for a while it is very dry here and even though I water ever hole I made it don't help much in fact I watered every hole on 3 different occasions... with over 50 targets found thats alot of holes! on this evenings hunt the numbers were down but the find got older and better!

I found 2 more silver coins for a total of 12 silver coins from one yard!

1942 Merc
1908 Barber Quarter!!!(worn but beautiful coin)

4 more wheats for a total of 32 wheat pennies from this one yard!
1910 1925d 1937d 1946s

finally 1 1904 Indian Head in very bad condition

I'll post in a new post of all the finds together in one picture in one post.

Re: Broke 2 records tonight...

What a great find. Isn't it awesome to dig silver! The key is interesting for the finds box.

Re: Broke 2 records tonight...

If i found that many good finds in a ''small'' yard, i would go back after a good rain and dig every signal that wasn't iron.Go for the gold , with that history, there may be gold
