Hi can anyone help me identify this broach, it seems to be made of gold and bronze
It is 3 cm long, it has obviously decayed but you can still see image.jpgimage.jpggold stars, could it be a roman animal broach?

Although I can't say exactly what it was, the design very much appears to be the Great Seal of the U.S.
When enlarged and oriented correctly I believe I can make out the stars in the correct pattern, a piece of the eagles left wing (which goes to the right side), and between the ring of stars and the wing is a chunk of the banner on which the word Unum would be, which I think I see.

Man you have a good eye and the sense to ignore suggested clues, that make for a good investigator. I thought it was a greyhound on the run. I fooled with the picture on my cell phone yesterday:IMG_20141026_153300.jpg
