Trying to date this little sucker...so any help would be appreciated.

Probably my best find to date...and one I am going to enter into the best finds...if I can figure out who can authenticate it, etc.

I just found this little beauty yesterday here in Ontario, Canada

It measures 1 3/8" long and 3/4" high.
Came from a site with finds dating from 1770-1815...so I am assuming it dates in that period somewhere.

British military I would imagine...

??? Wess: I looked all over the Net, & could'nt find anything similar! Seems small for a Buckle! Sure? I'll keep trying!

thanks guys.

That's not it though PBK. Certainly very close...but not quite like mine.

The one pictured in the link you sent is 130mm long and 30mm high. Obviously I can't figure out the length with only a portion of the buckle...but mine is 20mm high. Quite a bit smaller.

Also not mine tapers down from the side with the loop to the squared off end. The ears of the lion look slightly different, as does the nose, etc.
