So I went in today to pick up my halves and was talking with the vault manger ( this is the branch were the Brinks guy and her don't get along very well) she tells me that he was pissed again that he had to use his 2 wheeler again and told her " you know there may come a time here soon when you can't order these anymore" she told him they'd cross that bridge when they came to it. I'm not sure what that meant exactly, but I have been told at one of my other branches that the Brinks guy was inquiring about all the half deliveries too. I only get 2 boxes a week from those 2 branches. HH, Maverick.

Hey Maverick, at my weekly order bank, i get 2 boxes of half dollars too. One day the delivery guy walks in the back door and just drops the half dollar box on the floor... according to the head teller supervising, she told me it looked like he dropped it on purpose, of course you can't go off of that, we've all dropped boxes at one point.
Anyway, he then procedes to complain about how annoying and heavy the half dollar boxes are... yea right... come on, 25 pounds... that's not heavy.

so he starts arguing with the head teller saying how he hates delivering half dollars and that nobody uses them anymore and says that she will have to give the half dollar to the customer as is(literally split in half with several broken rolls and coins all over the floor)...

As I got to the bank that afternoon, the head teller told me that story and how she was VERY angry about the way Garda handled the situation and that it should never happen again. I think she had some tough words with the delivery guy too for his poor attitude. She filed a complaint to garda as well... i gues there might have been more to the situation she didn't tell me.
She then said that she told the delivery man, "I am a woman and can lift 4 of these at a time, how come you can't lift ONE box?"... "these boxes are for a valued customer, they should be delivered intact", etc.

moral of the story, if they don't like their job, they should still just do it right... if they don't like it and can't do their job correctly, they should quit... if they get angry about deliveries, they should quit...
don't worry, if the head teller is on your side, there should be nothing wrong. maybe up your weekly order from 2 boxes to 4 boxes, especially if the teller does not like the delivery man ;) make him lift more!!

^^the head teller is a really nice person, but DON'T get on her bad side or she can be the nastiest person out there, i've seen it first hand with another customer giving her a hard time.

Hey Buff, I told her if there was any problems that would arise from the orders to just do what she needed to calm the situation, if that meant skipping an order every now and then, that would be fine, just to let me know if she wasn't going to order that next week. I know she said she ordered for another guy too, I didn't get to ask her how many or how often as it got busy after I showed up there today. I'll wait and see what happens, I know she is still ordering 2 more for next week so far. Maverick.

I would comment, but I have to go complain about doing my job...

You can't hear me, but I'm laughin Rushfa. Thanks, Maverick.

this seems like the more mature way to handle the situation, though i am short tempered and get angered quite easily. hope your next boxes are loaded!

Kill him with kindness, Maverick! Maybe give the teller some of your delicious chocolate covered strawberries to give to the delivery guy with a hand written note about how grateful you are for the wonderful job he does =D I wish I had some of your chocolate covered strawberries now...dangit!

I don't get it all of these lazy @5s people at the banks and armored truck services. The banks job is to serve the customers and provide a service of ordering federal currency that we the customer want to exchange. Otherwise why be in the banking business. The lazy armored truck drivers/delivery service are paid well to supply said federal currency to the banks. Regardless if it's a box of pennies, 100 boxes of pennies, or boxes of halves. To have the delivery guy say they may stop delivering halves is like the pizza guy telling you that bread sticks are not being delivered any more because he doesn't feel like it, Go get my pizza biss!...and don't forget my stix! I would get the Brinks guys name and write the his board of directors, the banks corporate offices, and the OCC and stir the pot a little just because it would be fun. If nothing else the pizza guy..oops the brinks guy, would keep his mouth shut and do his job or get fired and get a new delivery job of..I dunno...maybe pizza?

Damn straight... don't like your job? Get another one, or quit your whining. At least act like a professional when you're working, then go to the bar after and complain to your bartender, that's what I do. Cheap therapy.

I'm still not sure what to think of the situation yet, I'm thinking though that I may get my orders cut back some what from the hard time this guy is giving the vault manger. I will see what she says next week when I pick up again. I wouldn't think that the Brinks guy has any persuation in what gets delivered or the frequency of delveries or the such. Maverick.

I've heard that I owe the garda guy a starbucks gift card for half dollar deliveries at three of my pickup banks. We shall see mysterious garda guy, we shall see.

I predict the brinks guy is a short timer and this problem will resolve itself. Besides he has a carry permit so he can keep safe delivering pizzas.

Gee that poor brinks guy. Probly gettin paid $30 an hour and wheeling in a few boxes is too much trouble.

When i interviewed for a job driving the armored truck they offered me 11 an hour. I walked out. You would think dealing with all that money and the risk they would pay more.

he should get mad IF he did not have a truck, other than that he full of bs they still use halfs here in pa, i get them all the time at the store
