Went back to the brick house last night for a 90 minute hunt. Only covered an area 15 ft x 30 ft. Pulled a 1936 Merc, 1943-P war nickle, 8 more wheats (1926-1947). All pre 1940s coins are down 8-9 inches. I also pulled a silver item. it's the size of a quarter with a small piece of metal on one side, came out of the same hole as the war nickle. Anyone have an idea what it may have been?
I am running my detector in PF (plowed field) mode, frequency F2, sensitivity 65, and discrimination at 25. I believe I have another 5 hours to finish going west to east. Once I detect the entire property in this grid, I will go over it north to south and plan on using BP (boost process) mode to see if I can pull some coins from the 1800's. I suspect these will be over 12 inches deep if there are any on the property.
I should have named this site the "field of wheats". I have pulled 25 out so far (1916-58) in 5 hours and along with 4 silver coins.
Up to 13 silver coins for the season
I pulled this pic from the web that shows the hunt site.
Thanks for reading. Hope ya'll get out and find some goodies!!
