hello all went to a foundation i have been to once before. didn't find much the 1st time. got a bigger coil now so i figured i'd give it another go. I am not a dig everything guy til now. wasn't finding much and was about to go when i got a flat button. shortly after another neither has any markings or designs on them. i get a mixed signal that is deep. dig myself a big hole nothing. dig alittle deeper and out pops this big round heavy coin. can't see any thing on the face. turn her over and see a wreath and one cent also 1/100 fraction. i do the a 2 fisted arm raise and a let out a muffled yahoo. (early sunday morning didn't want 2 wake anyone up) i get 1 more flat button that has some designs on the back with some wording. Its soaking so the pics will be posted later. my 1st large cent yahoo!

nice find and congrats on your first large cent. It is nice when you see that pop out of the ground. Looking forward to the pics of it and the flat buttons. What are you soaking them in?

I used peroxide over night to break up the dirt and then warm water and rubbed some baking soda on the buttons to bring up any details

thanks for the info. I have used the peroxide also but I have heated it up in the microwave for 2 minutes first to get it nice and hot. HAve not just put it in peroxide and left overnight though. Worth a try.

thanks again. The last two that I found were not nearly as good condition as yours. The one I found just this past Saturday I cannot even get the date off but know from the shape of Liberty head that it was from 1808 to 1814.

Congrats again on a great coin.

WTG!!! That is one sweet find... Sure wish coins of that era were here in Oklahoma... :P

Awesome first LC! ;D ;D Draped Bust Type - I like those better than the others.

Yours looks in good condition too.

That is just AWESOME! Great digs!

Hey Dgaughan. Congrats on the large cent, and to find an early one as your first is great. I just love those draped bust ones. Now on to the second one. Lance

If I found something like that my "yahoo" would wake the dead. Very nice finds.
