Back on the 18th, I started to pull just a few things out of an old dump that I have been contemplating for a while, one of which was this old steamroller (steam roller), which I believe to be an old Keysytone dating to the 1920's or 1930's. I am going to try to sell it, but was wondering if it would be worth the time and effort to restore it beforehand, or, should I just sell it as is. Thanks for your thoughts.

I also posted a picture of an old advertisment for it which I thought was fun to see.

It looks to be complete for the most part. I would say that it depends on whether you want to invest the time in restoring it or not. You may get $100+ from someone who wants to do the restore themselves or possibly $200+ if you restored it. Here are some completed listings to ponder

Thanks for the reply and the link. I will study it a bit to see what all is missing from mine.

Creskol, when you say 'restore' do you mean you're going to sandblast it, repaint it the original colors, and make it operable? I would think if you did, your selling price would jump from a few hundred dollars to close to a grand! I wouldn't think restoration would be that big of a problem since it is steel. If you have the time, I'd go for the restore. It looks like a good Spring project . .. . .and I would suggest selling it in the Spring or Fall. Note the projected price for this restored one is $1,600. :) Breezie

Breezie, $1,600 is an estimate on that piece and I'd be willing to say by looking at the completed eBay auctions that it's highly unlikely that the piece would even bring close to that. Ebay is king for items such as this. :)

Thanks Breezie.. Yes.. I would like to do a complete restoration on it if I do it. Looks like there may be a few things missing, so I will have to scour the web to see what parts and pieces I can find. It would be a good project!

That one actually sold for $ 275.00

If I found that I'd proudly display it just the way it is.. It's pretty cool already and has more character than a painted one. Nice find no matter what you decide on.
