✅ SOLVED Brass what is it

Found this on a field at the Brandywine battlefield. Found 3 musket balls and the shank of a flat button nearby. It is in 3 pieces and two of them definitely fit together, leaving a small hole where they join. The third piece has a small bump that fits into that hole. Not sure if that is how they fit together or not. Any ideas on what this is? Thanks for looking.
