✅ SOLVED Brass Valve Patent Dec 12 05

Found this brass valve at an old farmhouse site. The only marks on it are Patent Dec 12 05. It is stuck, but the stem was meant to push down, and then turn the disk at the top to hold it in the down position. Anyone know what this was for?

my guess would be a gas valve on some sort of burner.

Mick, if you can find pics of items patented on Dec. 12, 1912, you have ONLY 666 pics to review; patents numbered between 806,761 and 807,426.

My first thought was that it's a valve part from an old plumber's torch?
