My dad found this in our garden and brought it in to me. I've been lookin around online and I've heard that it could be a Calvary Pin, or a Collar pin. The only problem with this is the pics online have dots in between the letters U.S. and this one does not. It is very flat like a coin and looks to be brass. Its roughly the size of a quarter.

Enlisted men's collar or lapel brass. Some had periods at various points of time, some didn't. I'm not sure they could make up their mind. I suspect this is similar to modern pieces? Vets??

Looks like a US Army collar disc. Type I or II screwback. But we need a picture of the back.

Having net troubles, There was no screw on it just the flat disc. I believe the type II is what it is from your pictures due to the rough background. Thanks!

It could be something enitirely different. It could be a horse item. We really need to see a good pic of the back and a better front pic. Can you see where something broke off?

Yes the pin backing has broken off of it. All thats left is the circle where it used to be.

Ah OK. If its a screw on, there would be a small threaded shaft in the center.

Ok, here's a question, sorta related to the topic: Why is it that seemingly the loss ration between enlisted men US and officers US is much higher on the EM side? Haven't seen many officer's pins on TN. Just wondering.
