Hello fellow treasure hunters.
I found this brass clothes sign or tag near a crusty coin cache I found yesterday (check the ''Todays finds'' section for that story). I has an eagle on it, inscription reads ''RANGE WEAR HIGH QUALITY'' and it's 4,3cm (about 1 1/2 inch) wide.

Any one have any info on this item? It has these ''teeth'' on the backside so I guess it was attached to fabric or leather, the small rectangular indentation on the bottom side makes me wonder of its original function.
Doesn't have to be American, world fashion has been influenced very much by the US so this could be anything and it's age is another mystery to me...

Range wear is a western clothing brand that's been around since the early 1900's, but I don't know what your piece would have been on

Thin stamped brass with tabs on the reverse. :icon_scratch:
I'm thinking it's missing 1/3 of the bottom where it broke off whatever it was attached to... a pair of chaps from the 1950s makes sense.

Thank you guys, I'm pretty sure you have it right, I'll make a little research of my own but I think this one is solved.
