Brass spike with threads? Is this anything?

I rode back out to my site in Vicksburg today where I found the Masonic items, the knife and the flintlock musket plate and I found this. I may be nothing but it just looks suspicious so I wanted to post it up and see if there's anything to it. It is solid brass and threaded at the bottom. This was found in an infantry camp but there was a light artillery battery about 100 yards away. Any ideas?
