First object:
Based on being made of cast brass, with integrally-cast short nails on its back, and its comparatively small size, it is a 1700s-to-mid-1800s decoration for furniture or leather horse-harness gear.

Second object:
Definitely a stamped brass belt-adjuster from a civil war era yankee Enlisted-man's waist belt.
