Hi all,

Found this today close to where I found a Confederate infantry button a few weeks ago. Shaped like a golf tee, seems like brass with a star on the end. Reminds me of those posts you get with tuxedo shirts to use as buttons but the small end is smooth so it wouldn't hold. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Kent

Looks like a copper rivet, usually for putting leather straps together etc. Tony
Kinda looks like a rivet that has never been used. (It is not flattened on the other end) Look bottom right of my pic.

Yes it is a rivet, and the ones like yours that have the stars on them seem to pop up in calvary sights quite often

Thanks guys!

Thanks guys, everything you say makes sense. The fact that it was unused threw me off but again, it makes sense.
