Brass Ring

I just dug this brass ring. It's 2 1/2" diameter, the thickest part is 5/8" wide, the narrowest is 1/4" wide, the thickness is 1/4" all the way around. It weighs 4.53 ounces.
Any ideas?

i found one of those a couple weeks ago in west virginia someone told me it went to something like a plow like a harness ring
