From a hunt this morning at a mid 1800's site. Doesn't show any attachment and doesn't seem to be broken. It's brass. Thanks

I think you're onto something. I just noticed that and that's why the sides are not the same.

Looks like a horse shoe with a crown overlapping and a horse shoe overlapping the crown??

A long shot but maybe something to do with an American organisation called the Civilian Conservation Corps?

Frankyg it had crossed my mind but the site is a little before their time. They did cut out many trails around here so it's always a possibility.

I did some searching on the ccc and couldn't fin anything close to this. I really don't even know how to word this in a google search. I've tried many different ways and some weird stuff is coming up. Ill try to clean it up a bit but I don't think I'm missing anything. Thanks everyone hope it get solved.
