Welcome ntx4509. Galveston Island, pirate hideaway, a retreat of Jean Lafitte, much interesting stuff all around..for miles and miles.. if my memory serves me correct (I will have to check my archives), if you go out on the beach, I think around 31st or 35th street, you will be standing on top of a Spanish Galleon.. too bad about Texas antiquity laws. It and the history it holds will rot away (except for the gold and silver). Now look toward the ocean and scan the horizon.. you just looked out over at least tens to hundreds of millions of dollars in treasure.. I have to stop.. I am getting vaclempt.. (talk amongst yourselves)..

That was amazing getting it solved so quickly. I have found other bits of copper but this one was the only one with markings. If this is indeed copper sheeting maybe I am getting close to finding one or two of those spanish coins. Thanks for solving this one.

British or spanish this is my oldest find. Was a thrill to to get it solved with some history at least. Any idea what the 33 means? 1833 Maybe?
Best regards
Greg
