Looks like a part to a water sprinkler but I can't find an example. I think it's the part that slaps the water.

Better guess than anything I can come up with, but I don't think it's right. My rain bird sprinklers don't look anything like that.

I still can't find any kind of info on this because I don't even know what to search for. Thanks for the input though.

Looking at the original post, Pictures #2 and #4, you can see that one face of this "widgit" is intentionally FLAT, except that the hook part extends over into the plane of that otherwise flat surface.
That's got to be intentional -- but for what purpose I have no idea?

Ditto for the threaded hole that goes all the way through the top of the piece (as pictured).

Were there any buildings or business's in area you found this item in.Maybe knowing the area or type of industry in area could help I.D. item like if next to a plumbing business sends us down that avenue of research or blacksmith shop we look in that direction.

Sorry for the late responses, here are answers to the questions asked.

The hole is not threaded and the "broken off" end does appear to be broken off. The hook end doesn't have a hole in it, that is just a rust spot.

It was found at a late 1800's stone farm house in a very rural part of PA.

Thanks again for the input.
