✅ SOLVED Brass object

[RJ55]

Found this item where a house stood between 1903 - 1966. pretty sure it's made of brass. Maybe something of a door lock? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks RJ

Part of a striker plate I belive

Sure looks like a striker plate Gaterboy, but no screw holes? Could it maybe be the opposite part, an end plate on the tumbler lock itself?

I've installed some that are made up of a few parts.. A couple of which just get inserted between the ones with holes so you can adjust it.
