I found this yesterday while hunting an old home site. Would guess the hose was built in the 20's or 30's from the house style.

It's all brass. Looks like some kind of a hanger or door stop? the ball on the end is shaped like an acorn. It is about 4 1/4" long.

Thanks!
Jeff

What's the base look like? Did it have a screw or attachment threads?

Towel hook? Door catch (as opposed to stop). I can see a loop door pull dropping over that to hold a door open.

Maybe a hook for a curtain tie back?

Think Gypsy and Davesx are on the right page. Here's a variation or coat/hat hangers from eBay.

The word Acorn spooks half the folks on this site. If it has a screw hole iin the cone end , its part of a coat rack.

The wall end was badly corroded. Looks like there had once been some iron but has since rotted away flush with the back.

Sounds like the ruling is a hook for a hat or a hook from a hat rack.

Thanks everyone!
