You're correct. It is a dough hook for a mixer. I have one very similar for my Hobart mixer.

I see, you shut the detector down it wasn't the detector that overloaded and shut down ;D

Commercial mixers are fetching pretty good prices and you may be able to sell your hook. Otherwise still a nice metal detecting relic :icon_thumright:

Maybe your detector was low on batteries. Mine only shuts down when I hit 'motherload' ;D
