went out for a few hours today, didn't find much. However i came across this...
seems to be brass, maybe about 4 inches. A side of it has been blowout or crushed. The top(as i have it sitting), has a lip with 4 cut-in V's, at 12,3,6,9 o'clock. I guess any help or ideas would be awesome.
take care all, and happy hunting..

looks familiar to me Zach it might've had wood in the center top holding a tool to scrape
hog hair during butchering hog scraper maybe ?

Ill have too look into that one, sound interesting. Whatever it is it was built well. Would someone have this built that tool this well?

I still have a hog scraper and the "bell" portion is iron and the handle is wooden,, it would be a super fancy one to be brass! It could be a candleholder, but I am afraid I only seem to know what it is not.

You could be right Dave
I typed before i googled images Most are tin - iron with wooden handles.
Then i typed brass and saw brass hog scraper candlestick holder.
The one shown might be missing the lifter lever for the candle :dontknow:

Wow! That's got to be it!
I've never seen a candlestick holder with a slide adjuster.
I'm always leaning something new from you guys!
Thanks!

Best,
Scott
