Here's a front and back photo of a brass lock I found at the site where Union troops camped across the river from Vicksburg while they were building the canal in 1863. I'm not saying this lock is from the war but it could be. Any lock experts out there? I've never found one quite like this. What does the "E" mean? Any help on this i.d. is appreciated.
