I liked it when you found it. I think it's old... can't wait till someone IDs it.

I wonder if there was a handle of sorts attached, as in a scoop or spoon
Due to the hole on the end
To create the hole would take some effort, telling me it was relevant
or maybe a casted outdooe garden ornament mounted to a garden fountain

Now where have I seen that before? :icon_scratch:

Actually, I think your find is meant to be a broad leaf, tropical style leaf.

Whatever, it is a cool find - and what size is it?

Mike / trikiwi: new pics attached which should be close enough for sizing.

lonesomebob: Thats a good guess.

There is a wear mark on the backside of the hole near the top which means it may have been hung on a nail or a hook after use.
I`ll clean it up better and post them if needed.

Bradyboy / I also thought about a spoon it feels prefect for administering medicine to horses, cows or pigs.
I`ll see if i can see some teeth marks.

mojjax / Also a great guess. I had to go check out grease lamps to see what they looked like since i`d never even heard of them. Verrry Intrrrrresting.

It's a tea leaf, and that is a holder for used tea bags.
That's my guess at least. Here's a tea leaf.

Cleaned it up,
and it looks like gold to me. :tard:
Just kidding still looks great.

In the cleaned pic of the top there appears to be seeds in the hammered areas.
Does a tea leaf have its seeds on one side? Thanks for your 2 cents Doug.

There are gouge marks but i`m guessing they occurred in the wash cycle. :D
And not from administering medicine to a large animal.
And it does have a slight wear mark from hanging on the back side.

The brass appears to have been poured into a mold and then hammered on one side during it`s cooling period.

I`m no metallurgist so i have no clue on it`s era.

Thanks for looking all.
