Found on a parcel of land that was gifted to the county by a Rev. War Vet. Counties mandated by state to create Poor house's w/working farms. It became a poor house and later a sanitarium, eventually it became a mental hospital and closed in the 70's. It is brass, dates anywhere from mid 1800's? to mid 1900's? your guess is as good as mine, it's not marked or stamped. 6617 025.jpg6617 018.jpg6617 022.jpg6617 026.jpg6617 027.jpg6617 028.jpg6617 021.jpg

Looks like a nice fit for a decorative hand grip from a cane.It looks like it has a hole for screwing it to the wood.

Thanks, didn't think of it in terms of a t-handle cane, just straight shaft and it didn't have the fit for that. Thanks for the idea.

Too small for a cane handle. I think it is the end of a decorative curtain rod. The screw hole makes sense as well.

Also cool idea!

Doesn't look like a handle, I'm thinking it's a foot from a small table leg.

Dude, that's a sword handle. Maybe from a late 18th or early 19th C hunting sword...
