Those items look fimilar as knife guards and the base of the handle to a knife. In fact I am quite sure that they are, becuse I used to make knives.

Thanks old digger and taz42o for the confirming the knife parts ID, I found a picture of a sub hilt knife and I'm certain that that is what they are for. old digger would it be possible to have someone rebuild this knife and what do you think the approx cost would be? Seems like with the size of these parts that it would be one BIG knife.

They are fighting knives from what I read, but I won't be fighting or skinning anything any time soon. :nono:

I agree fighting/killing. I also agree, there is no modern day use for a knife this size in the states except possibly a survival knife.. But a very cool find and nice display ater you restore it.
