Hello All. Found this near a 1920's small town house in the front yard near the street. There are a lot of dimensional features on this thing but no marks or engraving at all:

Cast piece of brass with (6) holes in it including the 3/8-IN NPT threaded hole in the "stem". There are (2) and (3) non-threaded holes in the top and bottom respectively. It's ~3-IN tall by X 2-1/4-IN round and the width tapers 1-IN at top to 5/8-IN at the bottom. Each side has a weird molded-in slot about 1-IN long. Inside it's hollow except for (4) cross studs, one opposite each side hole. Looks to be molded in one piece with all the holes machined.

Is it automotive or maybe some kind of sprinkler? 1000 pardons for the long description. Please let me know what you think and Good Luck out there. C9

I'm pretty sure that is the gate part to a gate valve.

Hello Tony in SC. Wow that's a bummer...I think you are correct. I feel stupid spending that much time measuring and inspecting that thing...oh well into the bras bucket it goes. Thanks for the reply and ID.

Good Luck out there. C9
