Hello All,

This brass head is about as wide as a quarter and about as tall as a half dollar. Any ideas about what it's from? Was dug in a mid-1800s site but the site has lots of contamination from later eras up through the 1940s.

Thanks in advance,

Complete guess, but reminds me of a figural ornate French clock piece

funny you should say that--I found a complete figurine in that field in 2012 that was from a French figural clock!
