Any ideas on the square piece? Approx 1/2” square and 1/8-3/16 thick and looks to be brass. Looks like a 3 or a cursive z with a cursive u or v next. Looks like two dots above the u. Both sides are the same. Only thing I can come up with is a game piece but I have seen weights to be used with scales that were similar. Site goes back to 1790’s. Any ideas at all?
